The Network Team supports the Laboratory developing new systems, applications, and solutions for external customer's emerging technology and architecture including control systems and mobile technology, cyber systems and networks. You will perform a range of duties to help ensure cybersecurity and you may work across the broad technology spectrum spanning cyber-physical, embedded, mobile, IoT, and large-scale, inter-connected networks. This position is responsible for monitoring and maintaining mission critical LANL IT systems | | | | | | What You Need Minimum Job Requirements: Technical Knowledge Working knowledge of network protocols such as TCP, UDP, and VLANs. Demonstrated experience with Wireless technologies. Experience replacing and upgrading network equipment. (hardware and software) Technical Communication Demonstrated ability to convey technology and security concepts to stakeholders at multiple levels. As a result, good communication, diplomacy and interpersonal skills are required. Experience with creating / modifying network Diagrams Collaboration Demonstrated ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to implement new software tools or processes. Safety, Security, & Compliance Demonstrated responsible work ethic. Education/Experience: Position requires an Associate’s Degree and 2 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. Desired Qualifications: Technical Expertise & Knowledge Advanced technical knowledge of troubleshooting network related issues. Experience with incident management and network management tools. Technical Certifications Current holder of or ability to obtain Security+, CCNA, CCNP, COMSEC, UC, or equivalent certifications. Other Certifications Current and active DOE Q clearance or equivalent, transferable clearance and Human Reliability Program (HRP) certification. Location: This position will be located in Los Alamos, NM with the potential for teleworking from a location within 2 hours ground commute of this location. Reporting onsite will be periodically required. Telework is at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.
