The Service Innovation - Document Control and Records Management Group (SI-DCRM) is looking for a detail-oriented, highly motivated individual to be a Digital Archivist (Systems Analyst) - as a part of the Institutional Records Management Team at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Digital Archivist (System Analyst) 1 $65,700 - $104,400 The selected candidate will work within a team ensuring compliance with Department of Energy and Laboratory requirements regarding records submittal, receipt, transfer, storage, retrieval, usage, and disposition; the candidate will serve as a steward to protect the corporate memory of the Laboratory. The successful candidate must be results and performance oriented with a track record of dependability, adaptability, and strong customer service skills. The candidate must be highly motivated and able to excel in a dynamic environment. The selected candidate will also be responsible for the following: Developing and implementing a plan to collect a lab-wide inventory of aging and obsolete digital media at the Lab. Implementing software, hardware, and workflows for reformatting data from aging and obsolete digital media. Reformatting data stored on aging and obsolete digital media. Providing guidance and support for born-digital records processes, and training to end-users. Advising on best practices for saving data in digital file formats approved by the National Archives and Records Administration. Advising on alternatives and assessing technical limitations within operational realities. Working closely with key stakeholders, understands and translates functional requirements of the business owner and their end-users, requiring an automated solution, into system specification and design documents Identifying and addressing productivity impediments and promoting work process improvements. Completing analysis to seek effective business solutions and applying the use of required modeling and analysis tools, methods, and standards. Assisting in writing reports documenting activities related to born-digital records at the Lab.
Digital Archivist (System Analyst) 2 $79,200 - $129,000 In addition to what was outlined at the lower level, at this level you will be responsible for: The selected candidate will support SI-DCRM by providing system analyst support on assigned projects and collaborating with other technical staff to deliver on requirements. This role requires collaboration with other systems analysts, information specialists, and records specialists as well as external collaboration with business customers, end-users and other IT and professionals. The selected candidate is expected to uphold high standards of professionalism while executing their work and promote collaboration and teamwork throughout. Additional Job Requirements for Digital Archivist (Systems Analyst) 2: In addition to the requirements outlined above, qualification at the higher level requires: Experience in leading the elicitation and documentation of requirements on non-complex systems using requirements templates and developing testing plans and executing in support of software implementations. Experience creating business process flow documentation in support of software implementations. Experience providing resolution to a diverse range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors and demonstrated experience in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Works under limited direction; receiving general instruction on new assignments with the ability to schedule and arrange activities in accomplishing objectives. Experience configuring application settings and options, planning, and executing testing, and creating specifications for systems to meet business requirements. Demonstrated application of current digital archiving and digital forensic hardware and software used in accessing and reformatting data on various digital media formats.
Education/Experience at lower level: Position requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. Education/Experience at higher level: Position requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 4 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. Postgraduate degree in a related field may serve as years of related experience.
