All positions will report to the IQPA-PIQ group leader. The PIQ mission is to support the execution of plutonium pit production through the modernization of the TA-55 infrastructure and capabilities with a focus on the 30- pits per year mission and major equipment installation throughout the Pajarito Corridor. Candidates must have the ability to be Q Cleared, participate in Human Reliability Program (HRP), and may be required to support Night or Backshift Work schedules, as necessary. Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to: · Review and prepare procurement documentation germane to quality assurance and quality engineering requirements. · Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of processes, procedures, and applications contributing to the overall objective of sustaining an effective engineering, procurement, and construction Quality Management System. · Participate in nonconformance reporting and corrective action processes. · Lead, coordinate, and/or conduct audits and surveillance of quality-affecting engineering, procurement, construction, and ancillary project work. · Mentor Junior Quality Engineers | | | | | | What You Need Minimum Job Requirements: · Expert-level experience in the development and implementation of quality assurance and control programs. · Expert-level knowledge of and experience using national consensus standards of QA such as ASME, ISO, and ANSI/ASME NQA-1 2008/2009a, · Expert-level knowledge of, and extensive experience with, quality assurance activities including, but not necessarily limited to; system and/or performance audits, assessments, and surveillance · Expert level knowledge of, and demonstrated skill in conducting root-cause analysis and troubleshooting, investigating alternate solutions, and recommending solution on problems affecting quality assurance. · Advanced Level technical knowledge in the manufacturing and/or fabrication sector. · Facilitates collaboration and coordination to solve complex performance challenges. · Readily understands and interprets various physical, mechanical, and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, specifications, and schematics. · Demonstrated experience facilitating collaboration and coordination to solve complex performance challenges and providing tactical, forward looking support leading to project success. · Expert level technical knowledge of the application of engineering, procurement, and construction documents and practices sufficient to comprehend specified QA requirements for these disciplines, including Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) and application of the graded approach in an NQA-1 environment. Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 12 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. Advanced relevant degree preferred. Desired Qualifications: · Knowledge of 10 CFR 830 with experience in nuclear processing and or high hazard facility operating requirements, safety/authorization basis and/or Conduct of Operations planning and execution. · Experience in classified matter protection and control and classified computing. · Nationally recognized quality engineering related certification such as American Society of Quality’s Certified Quality Engineer, Reliability Engineer, or equivalent. · Certified Quality Auditor, NQA-1 Lead Auditor certification or similar credential.
