The group is responsible for computer security incident response, penetration testing, vulnerability scanning and mitigation, security tool development and support, and LANL’s network security architecture. Responsibilities include: Install, support, and maintain Splunk application and infrastructure. Support Splunk users with application related queries Contribute to the design, development, modification, and debugging of a robust SIEM infrastructure. Develop an advanced understanding of the Splunk product. Work as a team member and independently with direction from management.
| | | | | | What You Need Minimum Job Requirements: Thorough knowledge of and experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems. Knowledge of cyber security best practices. Experience with modern UNIX /Linux configuration management and use of tools similar to SALTStack. Thorough knowledge of and experience with operating system security, and server monitoring tools Experience documenting requirements, system builds, network configurations, and other detailed technical documentation. Excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and to understand their needs.
Education/Experience: This position requires a bachelor’s degree in a technical field and a minimum of 4 years’ related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Desired Qualifications: Splunk certification or completed Splunk training. Hands on experience with Splunk, including Splunk Indexers, Splunk Search Heads and Forwarders. Experience in Cyber Security.
Location: This position will be located In Los Alamos, NM with the potential for a hybrid work arrangement (partially onsite/partially offsite) from a location within 2 hours ground commute of this location. Reporting onsite will be periodically required. Hybrid is at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.
