Among A-3’s core technical areas of expertise are development efforts focused on advanced RF systems, electromagnetic effects, electrical and mechanical reverse engineering, mechanical design and evaluation, cyber-physical analysis and guiding lower TRL efforts into functional solutions. To support these mission goals, A-3 currently has two openings as Electrical Systems Technicians for individuals interested in working in a multidisciplinary group consisting of engineers, scientists, technicians, machinists working to transform concepts and designs into deliverable products to meet Global Security mission deliverables. We are seeking an Research Technician to assist in the construction, operation and testing of electrical systems.The successful candidate will often work independently and interact with engineers, technicians, machinists, inspectors and customers as part of a team to transform concepts and designs into deliverable products typically needed on short timescales to meet Global Security mission deliverables. Most project work is conducted at the Q and SCI levels. Research Tec 2 ($49,600 - $76,300) In this role, you will perform device assembly and testing operations for the A-3 Technology Applications Group. You will be trained to perform several of the following tasks: electrical equipment operation, mechanical assembly, equipment troubleshooting and equipment maintenance. Working with energized and non-energized electrical systems will also be an integral part of your job. You will be responsible for maintaining records, following operating procedures and integrated work documents, writing progress reports and interacting with support organizations. The successful candidate will have general knowledge of mechanical and/ electrical systems. Research Tec 3 ($59,500 - $93,100) In addition to the duties and expectations of a Research Tec 2, you will collaborate with team members as required to support the safety/reliability of equipment/systems. The ideal candidate will have a general knowledge of mechanical and/ electrical systems and have knowledge or interest in obtaining at IPC-A610 certification. Also, general knowledge of electronic circuit board development, digitizers, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, microcontrollers, RF technology and hardware and applied use of additive manufacturing technology is viewed favorably. | | | | | | What You Need Minimum Job Requirements: Mechanical Systems & Tools: Experience in one or more of the following: mechanical systems, hand tools, instrumentation, measurement tools, electronics, troubleshooting electrical systems, and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment. Safety & Security: Knowledge and implementation of required safety, security and quality assurance practices. Demonstrated ability to interact with senior personnel to ensure hazards and controls are identified, addressed, and implemented in procedures and operations.
Education: Education/Experience for Research Tec 2: Position requires a High School diploma and a minimum of 3 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. Education/Experience for Research Tec 3: Position requires an Associate's Degree and 3 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. Desired Qualifications: Hazard Identification: Experience contributing hazardous identifications to authorizing work documents, detailed operating procedures or other work planning documents. Electrical Systems: Experience working with electrical systems and energized electrical work.
