The Process Controls team supports the Engineering Technology and Design Division (E), within the Process Automation and Control Group (E-3) which is responsible for the design, development, and field support of data acquisition systems, process control systems, machine control systems, and safety systems used for Pu Sustainment Programs as well as a variety of additional programs throughout the Laboratory. Principal responsibilities will be to provide electrical technical support of control system hardware components and software controls for newly developed data acquisition and control systems, to include rack modification, component installation, wiring, installation, and troubleshooting. Systems range from standalone commercial controller-based equipment to large, distributed computer-based systems. Some work will be conducted in a radiological area. Development and Fabrication Technician 2 ($49,600 - $76,300) The successful candidate will: Use standard CAD systems to display and generate drawings of simple systems and subsystem components based on information received from others. Interpret information on drawings such as bills-of-materials, specifications, and related data to procure components and locate components in support of assembly and testing. Modifies existing drawings per detailed instructions from an engineer or higher-level design and test technician. Performs fabrication and troubleshooting with guidance from senior technicians or engineers. Assists in the design of testing experiments and diagnostic equipment. Development and Fabrication Technician 3 ($54,600 - $84,500) In addition to the duties outlined above, the Development and Fabrication Technician 2 will be required to: Provide technical guidance in control system design techniques to junior engineers and technicians. | | | | | | What You Need Minimum Job Requirements: Electrical Technology Knowledge in electrical systems, electronics, engineering standards, and control systems. Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of the theory and operation of field transducers such as flowmeters, valves, thermocouples, etc. Knowledgeable of National Electrical Code installation and design requirements Experience with CAD design tools such as AutoCAD Electrical. Experience, specialized training, and/or knowledge of working in a radiological or nuclear facility, including a demonstrated commitment to safety and security. Demonstrated experience developing electrical design packages (AutoCAD Electrical)
