The opened position provides an opportunity to study the nonlinear optical response of a material and unravel the coupling between spin/charge orders and its structural, orbital, and topological states. The position will focus on using the time-dependent first-principles theory and ab initio derived modeling to calculate time-resolved optical conductivity, high-harmonic generation, and dynamic spectral function. It will involve working closely with experimentalists on optical control of emerging magnetic and optical properties. | | | | | | What You Need Minimum Job Requirements: The successful candidate must have a strong skill, with an excellent scientific record of publications, in computational condensed matter physics. Demonstrated experience with using time-dependent real-time density functional theory (RT-TDDFT) codes to calculate dynamical properties such as high harmonic generation is required. The ability to work creatively and independently, as a part of a diverse team, is important. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential. Education: Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, and Materials Science (completed within the last 5 years). Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of the two-dimensional van der Waals materials; Experience with RT-TDDFT enabled all-electron DFT codes such as ELK. Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. This position will be physically located in TA-3, Bldg. 524
