We are seeking talented and highly motivated researchers with a strong background in experimental physics in one of the following areas: (i) quantum optics and photonics; (ii) metamaterials and metasurfaces; (iii) ultrafast optics/terahertz; (iv) quantum sensing/imaging. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage with a dynamic, multidisciplinary research team to study new physics phenomena and contribute to new concepts in dynamic quantum optics and sensing. | | | | | | What You Need Minimum Job Requirements: · Demonstrate experience with quantum photonics experiment design, setting up and testing of nonlinear optical systems, optical materials or plasmonic devices. · Demonstrate ability to conduct original research in areas of quantum, nonlinear and ultrafast optics and/or related topics. · Demonstrate ability to work harmoniously in a diverse multi-disciplinary team. · Demonstrate strong writing and communication skills, as evidenced by publications, cover letter, and interview. Education/Experience: Ph.D. in experimental photonics or a related area completed within the last 5 years or to be completed soon. Desired Qualifications: - Expertise in quantum, nonlinear and ultrafast optics, integrated photonics, semiconductor physics, materials, and/or related topics.
- Experience with single-photon experiments such as generation, detection, correlations, and entanglement.
- Experience with metamaterials and metasurfaces.
- Knowledge of commercially available simulation software (e.g., COMSOL, CST, Matlab, etc) for photonics.
- Excellent accomplishment record through publications and conference presentations.
- Results-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and willingness to work productively on multiple projects.
Location: This position will be located in Los Alamos, NM.
